James R. Rocco Chairman of the Board, is an original member of the Board, which first met in November 1989, and he serves as a representative of petroleum refiners.
He is currently the President of Sage Risk Solutions, Inc. Mr. Rocco previously was employed by BP Oil Company in various engineering and management positions related to construction, maintenance, and environmental activities at petroleum marketing facilities. He has extensive experience and involvement in the development, management, and implementation of environmental compliance programs related to the petroleum marketing industry.
While Director of Environmental Resources Management for BP Oil, Mr. Rocco was responsible for environmental legislative and regulatory activities, policies and procedures for compliance, technical support, engineering, and UST corrective action activities. He has actively participated in the development of UST regulations and other environmentally related regulations at the federal and state levels. Mr. Rocco received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1974.
In addition to his work with the Ohio Petroleum UST Release Compensation Board, Mr. Rocco is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Ground Water Association, the ASTM Committee E-50 on Environmental Assessment, the ASTM Committee D-18 on Soil and Rock, the ASTM Committee E-47 on Biological Effects and Environmental Fate, the NFPA Committee on Tank Leakage and Repair Safeguards, the American Petroleum Institute (API) Marketing Operations and Engineering Committee and the API HSE Waste Program Group. He is Chairman of the ASTM Corrective Action Task Force and the ASTM Risk Based Corrective Action (RBCA) Training Work Group.
