Andre T. Porter
Ohio Department of Commerce Director Andre Porter was appointed by Governor John Kasich in April 2013.

Prior to being named Director of Commerce, Porter served as a Commissioner at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. There, he assisted in the regulation of Ohio’s utilities, which include electric, water, gas, telecommunications, and commercial transportation. Before being named Commissioner, Porter was a private practice attorney in Columbus, Ohio.
 

Mr. Porter has a degree in Political Science from Capital University and a law degree from The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law. He lives in Gahanna where he previously served on city council.
